European Craft Days: exhibition ‘Enamel Art’

 

On April 1-3, the spring of crafts and living heritage will be celebrated in Vilnius. Theme “Our hands in unison”. European Crafts Days is the largest international event dedicated to presenting the craft sector and promoting its diversity. Civic, popular and unifying events in artisan workshops are intended for audiences from all walks of life, young and old, of various profiles: amateurs, curious, researchers, aesthetes, collectors, consumers.

During the EDA Days in Vilnius, a lot of attention will be paid to meetings, exchanges and demonstration of practical knowledge with arts and crafts and living heritage professionals. 14 public events will be organized for the public in galleries-workshops located in the old town.

On the occasion of the upcoming magnificent 700-year anniversary of the founding of the city of Vilnius and EDA days, an outdoor exhibition of the most valuable modern and reconstructed historical works and products created by craftsmen was organized in the glass pavilion (Vilnius Gobis Outdoor Expo) in the city center, near the central bookstore on Gediminas Ave. 13, “Do you see? 700 for Vilnius!

Artisans welcome Ukrainians to the events, especially children, who will have the opportunity to print clay Easter eggs in the “Craft Guild” workshop for 3 days using engobo or carving methods. A handbag designer from Kharkiv will share her creative and work experience at the leather workshop “Nauja Sirena”. In the Vita Antiqua workshop, the textile colorist will tell and demonstrate how fabrics are printed by stamping with plants, and there will be practical sessions.

 

In the exhibition, we will present the works of professional Lithuanian and foreign artists.

We also invite you to view the collection of works created by children during educational sessions. Marytė Dominaitė will introduce the techniques of creating works, work tools, and will demonstrate the work process.

We invite you to visit small groups of up to five people of various ages.
