III International biennial of Enamel Art “VILNIUS 2009“ | 2009 10 08 – 11 05
Main picture – art work by Kanae Tategami, Brooch The forest, 2009. Cloisonné enamel, silver, copper, 100 x 60 mm
The 3rd international enamel art biennale Vilnius 2009 will be held in the gallery “Meno nisa“. It is organized for the third time – at the moment very special for Lithuania, when Vilnius became European Capital of Culture 2009.
The main aims of the biennale are promotion of enamel art and extension of creative approach to enamel. Obviously, enamel is the technique of vast possibilities. Able to adorn as well as to add colour to the spatial forms and planes and make them glint. From a brooch and a Picture to… the bootee, ring or fan.
However it obeys just the most patient and staunch. Sublime, whimsical and noble technique which, thanks to the efforts of the Gallery “Meno nisa“, slowly but safely comes back to Vilnius.
Date of the biennale 2009-10-08 – 2009-11-05
