The Wolf and Vilnius. Enamel workshop with Marytė Dominaitė

We invite you to a unique educational session at the Museum of Applied Arts and Design with the renowned guest artist, enamel art specialist, organizer of international enamel art biennials, gallery director and curator Marytė Dominaitytė. During this educational workshop, each participant will create a brooch, which they will coat with enamel paints and then fire in a specially brought kiln.

Enamel is a transparent colorless ground glass mass, with its color created by various metal oxides. By coating a metal piece with this mass and firing it at 800°C in a heated kiln, we create a durable metal-glass alloy. The process, which takes just a few minutes, is like a small miracle—colors change, and the surface becomes shiny and smooth.

During the workshop, the artist will briefly introduce the history of this unique art form and its use in creative work.

We invite you to register by phone at +370 5 212 1813.
