September 30 (Thursday) in the “Meno niša” gallery, the exhibition of the jewelry works of the young artist Elzė Sakalinskaitė “Akso gijom klota…” was opened, in the first personal exhibition she presented brooches embroidered with gold threads, as well as other jewelry that combines metal and textile miniatures.

Elzė Sakalinskaitė is a master’s student in textiles at the Vilnius Art Academy, a student of one of the most prominent Lithuanian artists – Eglė G. Bogdanienė. She studied in Turkey for half a year, where the creator became interested in metal plastic. In her works, she presents a combination of jewelry and textiles. The influence of Eastern cultures can be felt in her jewelry works, and the brooches created using the technique of laying gold threads are reminiscent of Baroque times. Presented jewelry is sensuous, evoking sentiments, fascinating with a variety of shapes and patterns, attracting the eye with the brilliance of gold threads.
